The results indicate that despite adequate pharmacotherapy of depression in patients with other symptoms of sleep apnea should continue to be screened and treated if positive.

An important consequence is that overweight and obese patients with sleep apnea occurs, it may also show signs of depression.

Given the close link between obesity, depression and sleep apnea, it is probably advisable to periodically monitor all patients with both conditions of treatment of obesity.

While the mere treatment of depression and / or sleep apnea obesity in humans is unlikely to result in significant weight loss that is present when both conditions are a major obstacle to successful weight and therefore should be handled properly.
